Santino Rao

Santino “Sonny” Rao is a 2021 1B/LHP that attends Bishop Moore Catholic High School in Orlando, FL. He is also a linebacker on his high school football team. Academically, Sonny has a 3.9 unweighted GPA. First impression of Sonny is, he truly looks the part. With his 6ft 1inch, 205 lb frame he will definitely get the attention of scouts as he enters the ball park. Offensively, he has a powerful, fluid, left handed swing, that has the potential to generate some serious bat speed. Seeing Sonny play this weekend he is a definite standout on an extremely talented 2021 FTB roster. After his first 16 ABs of the summer he is hitting .438 with 4 doubles, 1 home run and 8 RBIs. His  3 run home run was a no doubter that cleared the RF fence in a hurry giving his team a 3-2 lead. Coach Ronnie Rodriguez said how impressed he has been with Sonny’s aggressiveness at the plate. The more you watch Sonny you can tell he understands the importance of hunting fastballs with his do not get cheated mentality at the plate. In other words, this kid flat out takes hacks!
